The Spring Classics are on the way and one of the dustiest is around the corner. Strade Bianche is the under rated sibling of the mainstream races such as Roubaix or Flanders but where we would jump on the gravel bike for a race like this, the pros just throw some bigger tyres on - no bother! Koo eyewear continue to sponsor the race and have released a limited edition pair of lens to celebrate the race...
KOO Eyewear have today confirmed they will continue their official partnership with Strade Bianche, taking place on 5th March 2022. The collaboration began in 2017 when Strade Bianche introduced their Gran Fondo, opening up the event to all. In the few short years after, the Strade Bianche has become one of the most loved races by racers, riders and cycling fans across the globe.
For KOO, the Strade Bianche stands for passion, challenge and beauty. Routes weave across the famous white sterrato roads, framed by the stunning Tuscan landscape. Through this beauty, two elements are consistent, dust and mud, depending on what the weather provides.
When dry, the sterrato is white and bright, coating riders and bikes as they kick up the dust behind them. When rain darkens the unpaved roads, they quickly turn to mud.
Based on these Strade Bianche motifs, KOO has created a limited edition of DEMOS, featuring a gradient dust effect that wraps the frame, recalling the famous dusty white sterrato roads of the competition.
A new lens, named ‘Siena Red Mirror Lens’, features a smoke base, equalising the diffused light effect of the clear and bright environment. A Dark Red Mirror coating, developed to represent the official colours of the competition, places the lens in category 2 with a VLT of 24%, ideal to protect from the sunlight of the early spring days.
Hidden inside the left arm is a customised Strade Bianche tag, while the packaging will include the Siena Red sticker, shown in the slide.
The new Limited-Edition DEMOS will retail at €175.00, £165.00 & $199.00, available from kooworld.cc from 16th February.
